International Olympiad: Young people unite for a sustainable future
On the eve of the celebration of Financier's Day and Independence Day of Kazakhstan on November 17, 2024, the university hosted the international subject Olympiad OP "Finance" among students of Russia and Kazakhstan, graduates of schools and colleges on the topic: "Current trends in the sustainable development of the financial and economic system in the context of digitalization and global risks."
There is a good tradition to annually hold an International Subject Olympiad by the department at our university, creating a platform for combining the creative interests of young and mature financiers, involving them in an atmosphere of sparring and defending their ideas through the implementation of their projects, using the entire arsenal of financial tools when evaluating them by top managers - financial sharks of the business community, thus approaching to the high note of financial science and financial business.
The main purpose of the Olympiad was to reveal the creative potential of students, attract potential applicants, as well as promote financial literacy among young people.

To evaluate the work of the participants, a competent jury was formed, which included leading experts in the field of finance and economics:
- A. Musabekova - Director of the branch of Home Credit Bank JSC;
- Zoykimbekova Z.K. - Head of the Department of Explanatory Work and the Contact Center of the Department of State Revenue in the Karaganda region;
- Saparova Zh.B. - Head of the Treasury Department in the Karaganda region;
- Spiridonova T. G. - Director of the CF of Nurbank JSC;
- Alekseeva S. S. - Commercial Director of KLMZ;
- Aitbek S. K. - Financial Director of a microcredit organization;
- Zikirov B. K. - Director of the branch of BankCentrCredit JSC;
- Ilyinskaya E. V. - Head of the Center for lending to medium-sized businesses of KF JSC Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan;
- Salikhova A. A. - Head of the Department for work with legal entities of the branch of JSC "Bank RBK".
Teams from more than 35 schools, colleges, as well as leading universities in Russia and Kazakhstan presented their startup projects, including the Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Kazan Cooperative Institute (branch) Centrosoyuz of the Russian Federation "Russian University of Cooperation" (Kazan), Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University named after S. Seifullin (Astana), NAO "Toraigyrov University" (Pavlodar), University "Turan" (Almaty), D. Serikbayev atyndagy Shygys Kazakhstan Technical University (Ust-Kamenogorsk).
The large-scale and exciting event, organized by the Faculty of the Finance Department, was held at a high scientific, methodological and organizational level, and also reflected modern trends in science and education. In practice, the principles of interdisciplinarity, continuity of education and continuity in school-university relations have been implemented.
The 17th Subject Olympiad will be an important step towards attracting talented and ambitious applicants, participants and future financiers to our university. Graduates who will start their career with us will be able to join the ranks of creative professionals in the financial and banking sector in the future!
