During the evaluation process, the competition committee gave special recognition to the work of Aruzhan Kiyasheva, a third-year student of the Sociology programme at Karaganda National Research University named after academician E.A. Buketov.

In her essay, Aruzhan relied on real survey data collected from residents of the region and revealed a profound contradiction between society’s seemingly positive attitude toward women migrants and their actual vulnerable and unprotected position.

Beyond the standard prize categories, we are proud to present Aruzhan with the Special Jury Award “For Outstanding Analysis of Intersectional Inequality”. This nomination stands alongside our main awards in significance and recognizes the author’s exceptional research insight and sensitivity.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

We sincerely thank all participants for their courage in scientific inquiry. Your ideas contribute to the development of the intellectual potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
