The University is expanding its participation in international rankings
Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz has participated for the first time in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, an international ranking that assesses universities’ activities in the areas of sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
On September 23–25, 2026, in Baku, a series of events dedicated to the results of the ranking was held, including an award ceremony and an international conference. The conference brought together representatives of universities and the expert community to discuss current approaches to the development of sustainable and environmentally responsible campuses.
The University was represented at the events by M.B. Zhumabekova, Director of the Department of Strategic Development, and D.M. Sattybayeva, Director of the Research Center for Sustainable Development and Creative Industries.
Participation in the UI GreenMetric international events provided the University’s representatives with an opportunity to explore modern approaches and best practices of universities from different countries in the areas of sustainable development, environmental initiatives and the development of green campuses. During the conference, professional meetings were also held and new contacts were established with representatives of universities and organizations from different countries, creating a foundation for further international cooperation.
The University’s first participation in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings marked a new area of its international engagement and an important step towards advancing the principles of sustainable development. Work in this area contributes to strengthening the University’s international visibility, expanding partnership networks, developing environmental awareness, and introducing modern approaches to creating a sustainable educational environment.
Going forward, the University plans to continue its work in this area, strengthening sustainable development practices and expanding cooperation with the international academic and expert community.
