On April 28, 2025, the Republican Student Subject Olympiad in the educational program “Finance” was held among universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The theme «Modern Drivers of Sustainable Development of the Financial System in the Context of Transformation and Digitalization».
The event addressed the growing transformation of the financial system under the influence of digital technologies, ESG transformation, and blockchain innovations. Fintech is reshaping the industry, competing increasingly with traditional institutions.
On May 8, 2025, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz hosted a certificate awarding ceremony for participants of the trainings organized within the framework of the international project CirculEC (Development of innovative curricula and modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development), supported by the European Union.
The CirculEC project aims to strengthen human capital in Central Asian universities in the field of circular economy by equipping staff, students, and the wider public with skills and competencies relevant to local labor market needs and environmental challenges faced by the region.
The training program focused on current issues in circular economy, sustainable practices, and educational innovation. Participants included faculty members, administrative staff, and students interested in applying modern approaches in educational and institutional contexts.
On April 28, 2025, the Roboproject-2025 Robotics Championship was held at Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz among students. The event was organized by the Department of Digital Engineering and IT Analytics.
The championship brought together talented and proactive students passionate about engineering creativity and modern technologies. Participants presented their own robotics projects, demonstrating practical skills in programming, assembly, and control of robotic systems. On April 26, 2025, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz hosted a meeting between students and representatives of "Kazaeronavigatsia" RSE — the national provider of air navigation services of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the company representatives presented the mission and main areas of activity, highlighting the importance of their work in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air traffic. Special attention was given to career opportunities for young professionals. Students were introduced to open vacancies in Karaganda, including: • Engineer of ERTOS service (operation of radio engineering equipment and communication), • Engineer of KRTOP, • Inspector of aviation security. The representatives emphasized that the company welcomes motivated young candidates regardless of their major, as long as they have a good command of English and a willingness to grow in the aviation sector. The students showed great interest in the presented vacancies, asked questions, and received detailed information about employment and career growth opportunities. Such meetings help strengthen the connection between employers and future professionals and expand students' horizons for career choices.
From April 21 to 26, 2025, in accordance with the calendar plan of the grant project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan titled “Innovative Model for Improving Student Research Work in Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” representatives of Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz — Director of the Research Institute of Economic and Legal Studies T.A. Khanov and project manager A.V. Bashirov — carried out a business trip to Almaty.
During the visit, meetings were held with the administration and academic staff of leading universities in Almaty, including Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Caspian University, and Turan University. The meetings focused on joint research initiatives involving students, expanding cooperation within the grant project, and practical application of the findings and recommendations outlined in the monograph “Improving Student Research Work in Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The monograph, developed by the project team, has already received implementation acts.
In addition, university representatives participated in the scientific conference “Topical Issues of Customs and Tariff Regulation in the Context of International Economic Integration,” organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The business trip contributed to strengthening scientific cooperation and enhancing the development of student research initiatives among Kazakhstan’s universities.
