Presentation of the Teach for Qazaqstan program at the University

Our university hosted the presentation of the Teach for Qazaqstan program, which opens up new opportunities for talented graduates and professionals. The program provides a unique chance to become a teacher in regional schools of the country.
"We recruit and select promising graduates/leaders of leading local and international universities and specialists from various fields of activity. We train selected candidates so that they become officially accredited teachers. We employ them as teachers in rural schools for two years," the representatives of the Foundation noted.
This is not only a great opportunity to contribute to the development of education, but also a great chance for employment and career growth. The program helps students and young professionals develop skills that are highly valued in the labor market, as well as provides useful experience and broadens horizons.
The Foundation operates according to the State mandatory standard of general secondary education and the Professional standard "Teacher" in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants take the national Teacher Knowledge Assessment test. Upon completion of the pedagogical retraining, the finalists of the project receive a special certificate.
Participation in Teach for Qazaqstan is not just a job, but an opportunity to become part of a community that changes the future and improves the education system in Kazakhstan.

A lecture by an international UN expert was held at the University

A lecture by an international UN expert was held at the University

On October 10, 2024, the university hosted a lecture for students and teachers by the International Expert of the International Organization for Migration of the United Nations Agency Kenbaev Zhangali Aitkalievich on the topic: "The Law on Combating Human Trafficking as the next stage of the legal reform of the state and its impact on the general anti-corruption culture of society."

He told the historical problems of human traffic in Kazakhstan, what problems they faced during the development, explained the main provisions of the Law, international experience in this area. The lecture turned out to be very interesting and informative, since the lecturer himself is one of the developers of this Law.

Then the head of the compliance service of the University Fedotov S.V. spoke, who noted that the adopted Law is a new page in the organization of work on combating human trafficking and, in general, the fight against organized crime in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Considering that the United Nations Convention against Organized Crime of July 21, 1997, in the definition of organized crime, indicates that corruption is one of the three main means (the other two are violence and intimidation) which enable the leaders of organized crime to make a profit, the adoption of this law is another blow to those corrupt law enforcement officers who in every possible way cover up the organizers of human traffic.

After the lecture, students actively asked questions about the application of the new law in real life, and were also interested in how international organizations such as the United Nations can help in the fight against human trafficking and corruption. Zhangali Aitkalievich answered each question in detail, giving examples from his practice and international experience.

Graduate students who are preparing diploma projects related to legal reforms and combating human trafficking showed particular interest in the topic under discussion. They actively participated in the dialogue with the expert, asking clarifying questions on legislative aspects and international practices.

The lively dialogue demonstrated the high interest of students in the topic and showed the importance of such events for expanding legal awareness and social responsibility.
