October 28, 2017 The Chair of foreign and Russian languages of KEUK held annual olympiad "MULTILINGUAL GRADUATE» among graduates of city schools.
There were 2 rounds. First round – lexical-grammar test in Kazakh, Russian and English languages. Second round – presentation in three languages. According to the results of the olympiad the following students were awarded with diplomas and certificates:

Department of SW and ANK within the framework of the discipline of the Value «Mangilik El» held an off-site training in the House of Friendship of KSI «Kokamdyk kelisim» of the apparatus of the akim of the Karaganda region on the theme «Culture of interethnic communication» for students of the group GMU-12. The following issues were considered: 1. Historical roots of the culture of interethnic communication in Kazakhstan; 2. Culture of interethnic communication as a result of national policy; 3. «Mangilik El» - the idea of national consolidation, interethnic communication and public consent. The students got acquainted with the activity of the Friendship House of KSI «Kogamdyk kelisim» of the apparatus of the akim of the Karaganda region. The lesson was conducted by the chief specialist of KSI «Kogamdyk kelisim» of the apparatus of akim of the Karaganda region Malayev D.B. An excursion was conducted for the students and they got acquainted with the ANC documentation.
On October 27, 2017 teachers and employees of Karaganda economic university participated in a series of free seminars organized and held on initiative and order of Committee of science of Ministry of Education and science. The purpose of seminars was development of competences and skills of teachers and researchers in operation with abstract databases and scientometric tools. The scope of seminars was devoted to operation in the Springerlink system in the following main directions: 1. Use of the Springerlink system for carrying out scientific research; 2. Selection of journals and articles on research subjects; 3. How to prepare qualitative article and to publish it in rating foreign journals". Within the seminars on specific examples retrieval opportunities of the system were shown, explanations concerning the organization of operation in it are made. Also general information about the modern trends in science and scientific publications was provided to participants of seminars.
On October 24, 2017, within the framework of cooperation with the KGKP "Karaganda Regional Center for AIDS Prevention and Control", an off-site session was organized and held with teacher Alpysbaeva M.B. for the students of the specialty "Social work", groups SR-33s / k and SR-41k on the discipline "Content and methodology of psychosocial work". During the lesson, students got acquainted with the main activities of the Center for AIDS Prevention and Control; with the structure of psychosocial individual work with HIV-infected people (children, adults); with the main directions of the social worker's consultative work with the patients of the Center for AIDS Prevention and Control; with forms of social assistance for HIV-infected people (children and adults), etc. The staff of the Center for AIDS Prevention and Control, namely, the social worker Madina Muratovna, conducted a study tour for students.
A regular meeting of the "Enactus-KEU" club was held at co-working center "Dostyk" of the University in the 24th of October, 2017.
The meeting was attended by the adviser of "Enactus-KEU" international program, doctor of Economics, Professor Sikhimbaeva D. R., senior researcher of Institute of Economics and legal studies, Ph. D., associate Professor Osik Y. I., lider and the team of « Enactus-KEU ».
The meeting discussed the current socio-economic problems of the country and the region. Associate Professor Osik Yu. outlined the proposals, suggestions and recommendations for the preparation of submissions and participation in "Enactus Kazakhstan" competition.
October 17-20, 2017 Astana hosted the championship of the RK for speed skating on individual distances.

For the last three days from 20 to 22 October 2017, the team of the Ka-raganda economic University has participated in the Astana Startup Weekend it was the sixth event of the project Astana Innovations Challenge, launched by the Akimat of Astana city, JSC "Astana Innovations", a Business incubator MOT. Team KEUK after the first presentation of the project "Meet and Cuidе" hit the top ten and successfully reached the second round.
More than 30 start - up teams from different Universities of our country in the framework of these events have presented their innovative projects in the field of tourist services and urban information systems, these projects are ready for the implementation. At the informal business communication on the sidelines of the event, the mentors have shared their experience of beginning, getting and running their own business, gave advices to budding entrepreneurs and revealed some hints of his success in the educational sessions.
In the framework of the implementation of the plan of vocational guidance Department, as well as the celebration of the Day of social workers October 20th, 2017y. in the Karaganda economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz chair of the SW and the APK held intellectual competition «Игі іс мамандығы».
The participants demonstrated professional competence in social situations, the development and presentation of social projects.

Literary and musical evening "Ult tilin ulyktagan", dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the national poet Mukhtar Shakhanov, was held in the library of Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz. Mukhtar Shakhanov is an outstanding Kazakh poet and a well-known public figure; his works have been translated into many languages. University and college students learned in detail about the life and work of M. Shakhanov, listened to his compositions, read his poems well-loved by the people: "Tort ana", "Zheltoksan alany", "Meni nege Mukhtar koigan”, sang well-known songs based on the poems such as "Ake turaly zhyr", "Tugan kun keshinde", etc. Mukhtar Shakhanov's works make people think on the benefits he brings to his country. After all, feats can be performed not only on the battlefield, but also in everyday life: daily routine, study, work, etc., contributing to the future well-being of the country. The exhibition "Ult tilin ulyktagan" and the virtual exhibition "Kaissar rukhty akyn" were prepared for the event. The evening ended with the performance of a famous song "Kok tudyn zhelbіregeni".
