«SPORT STARS CHOOSE KEU!»April 27, 2017, under the slogan: "Sports stars choose KEU!" Correspondence and evening faculty of distance learning held a meeting of students of KEU, CEPB, other colleges in Karaganda and the region with the famous Kazakh athlete Ekaterina Aidova. Ekaterina is a three-time world junior champion in speed skating, silver medalist of the World Junior Championship, bronze medalist of the World Cup stage (2015), participant of two Olympiads (2010, 2014), two-time bronze medalist of the Universiade (2017). And also - Ekaterina Aidova is a student of KEUK and receives a second higher education in the specialty "Jurisprudence".
The meeting was held in the format of "Question-answer", which caused a special interest of the audience. The famous athlete told about her achievements in sports, in studies, about plans for the future.
Students of the colleges in the city of Karaganda and the region before the meeting with E.Aidova could also get acquainted with the university and see the audience, museums, a conference hall, a gym, a summer sports ground, electronic kiosks and a library.

London Professor’s seminarSeminar for multilingual teachers, PhD students, master’s students and students of KEUK on the theme “Critical Thinking in the University teaching process” was organized by Multilingual Education Centre on April 24, 2017. The seminar was conducted by Director of International Business Development Program, Senior Lecturer of Strategic and Operation Management, Critical Thinking and MBA at Brunel University (London, Great Britain), PhD Abraham Althonayan in order to develop a multilingual education in the framework of international cooperation with Brunel University. Professor Althonayan noted that he was “very impressed with the level of English language proficiency of the audience”.

Students of the specialties "Information systems" and "Computer equipment and software" of KEUK made presentations on topical issues in the field of information technologies, and also discussed the main directions of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan "The Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness."

The Chair "Information and Computing Systems" held a round table on the topic "Religious extremism: myth or reality?" With the participation of the head of the Department of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Karaganda Region, S.K. Tlekbaev.
Terrorism and extremism at present in its scale, consequences, intensity, destructive force, in its inhumanity and cruelty turned into a terrible problem for all mankind. Spoke about what measures the state is taking to ensure the safety of the population, the rules for safe behavior in the event of the threat of a terrorist act, if an explosive device is found. He also disclosed the reasons for the emergence and spread of religious extremism, the forms of its manifestation, and explained the peculiarities of religious public associations functioning in Kazakhstan.
Participants of the round table noted the need to intensify the process of searching for effective mechanisms for educating young people in a spirit of tolerance, respectful attitude to any person, regardless of their nationality, religion.
