Fruitful cooperation: University students at the Red Crescent round table

On November 20, 2024, students of our University OP "Jurisprudence" Sergienko Elizaveta, Khabibulina Alina, Surkhaev Elmir took part in a round table on the topic: "The role of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the dissemination of international humanitarian law (IHL) and the ideas of humanity: historical, legal and cultural aspects", which was held in the Karaganda Office of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In their speech, the students spoke about the role of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan in international law issues related to the problems of international legal qualification of the use of the latest technologies during international armed conflicts and non-international armed conflicts.

The event was also attended by representatives of local executive bodies; military units and law enforcement agencies; the Trade Union Center of the Karaganda region of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan; the Department and Emergency Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.    

The round table was productive, bringing together experts from various fields. The participants stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in humanitarian assistance and promoting the ideas of humanity.

This event was an important step towards strengthening fruitful cooperation. A memorandum of cooperation between the Regional Branch of the NGO of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University was concluded and signed. We are confident that joint work in the field of education, science and practice will continue to contribute to the formation of professionals who are ready to contribute to the development of humanitarian law and the ideas of humanity.

Expert opinion: the role of culture in economic development

Today, the Kazakhstanskaya Pravda newspaper published an article by the rector of Karaganda Kazpotrebsoyuz University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Yerkara Aimagambetov, entitled "Culture matters". In it, the author examines the question of what is the basis of society — the economy or culture.

Aimagambetov notes that, despite the traditional view of the economy as the basis of society, culture plays an equally important role. It shapes the thinking, behavior and principles of doing business, influencing the economic development of countries.

The author provides examples demonstrating how cultural traditions and values affect economic processes and labor productivity. He emphasizes that for the successful development of society it is necessary to take into account cultural characteristics and integrate them into economic activity.

The article invites readers to think about the relationship between culture and economics and how cultural factors can contribute to or hinder economic progress.

We continue to gain knowledge and valuable experience from professionals and experts. On November 18. 2024 a meeting was organized for marketing students with the head of the marketing agency INSTALIFE A. Mitina on the topic: «Basics of marketing promotion for the Kazakhstan market».
Students became familiar with the features of market analysis, target audience analysis and marketing trends in the development of promotion strategies. The application of theoretical knowledge in practical cases helps students see real examples of successful marketing campaigns and their implementation. During the meeting, students learned to evaluate the success of marketing campaigns, identify key success factors and areas for improvement.
Mitina A. helped students determine career orientation, which motivates students to set professional goals and develop the necessary skills. These competencies will help prepare students for successful careers in marketing and help them adapt to changing market conditions.

On November 140, 2024, a preliminary selection of student projects was organized and conducted by the staff of the Scientific Research Institute of Economic and Legal Studies at the educational center of the library of the Karaganda Kazpotrebsoyuz University.

This event was timed to coincide with the annual Competition of innovative student projects "Demo Day III", which will be held on December 12, 2024.

The members of the commission evaluated the presented presentations of student projects according to the following criteria: the novelty of the project idea, the clarity of the goal and task, the quality of marketing research and financial and economic calculations, risk assessment, the level of use of software products, etc. Recommendations and suggestions for improving their quality were given for each project.

Meeting with representatives of the anti-corruption service: dialogue with studentsThe Anti-Corruption Coworking Center of the University hosted a regular meeting of students and teachers with employees of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Combating Corruption in the Karaganda region.
The speakers of the event were the deputy head of the Department for Detection and Suppression of the Department, Major of the Anti-Corruption Service Abdiev Olzhas Kalybekovich and the officer for particularly important cases, Major of the anti-corruption service Sharkov Zakhar Sergeevich.
The guests shared their experience, talked about the key aspects of the work of the Agency and the Department, as well as the specifics of operational and investigative activities. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026.
Such meetings play an important role in the formation of an anti-corruption culture among students and teachers. An open dialogue with representatives of the service allows young people to better understand the mechanisms of combating corruption, learn about legal aspects and responsibilities, as well as realize their role in combating this phenomenon. The University continues to actively support initiatives aimed at developing civic responsibility and legal literacy among its students.
